We’re thrilled to invite you to the upcoming ECA Seminar, which can be combined with the training “European Approach for Quality Assurance of Joint Programmes”.
Our gathering will take place from 7th to 9th of October 2024, hosted by our member UKÄ, Swedish Higher Education Authority with the following general agenda:
- 7th of October 2024: ECA Seminar, 10 am – 17 pm (followed by social programme and dinner),
- 8-9th of October 2024: European Approach for Quality Assurance of Joint Programmes training.
ABOUT THE TRAINING:
The European Approach for Quality Assurance of Joint Programmes is becoming the go-to method for ensuring cross border study programmes in Europe as more joint programmes emerge through the Erasmus Mundus and the European Universities Alliances initiatives and a shift towards internationalisation of study programmes in general. However, assessing joint programmes requires careful consideration of their unique features with which self-accrediting higher education institutions and HEI under programme accreditation seems to struggle. This includes factors like the roles within consortia, how teaching and learning are coordinated, converting grades across different countries, comparable quality assurance frameworks, and ensuring consistent learning outcomes across various locations. Additional challenges might arise due to the fact that different countries may have varying approaches and legal requirements for assessing joint programmes. As a key partner in the implementation of the European Approach, the European Consortium for Accreditation in higher education (ECA) as well as the trainers’ accreditation agencies AQAS and Unibasq can rely on a wide range of experiences in different consortium constellations.
The training will primarily concentrate on the specifics of the European Approach, while also considering the national systems that shape the context in which quality assurance decisions are made within Higher Education Institutions offering joint programmes.
REGISTRATION:
You may register for just the seminar, just the training, or both.
Registration for the seminar is required by 15th of September 2024, while we kindly ask you to register for the training by 15thof July 2024. Both registrations shall be made through writing an e‐mail with your name and organisation to secretariat@ecahe.eu.
Participation in the training costs 450 euro. The fee for ECA members (i.e. staff from QA agencies that are members of ECA) is 250 euro. The training fee covers the costs of the training and venue, dinner, and light lunches. The fee does not cover any travel costs or accommodation.
After receiving your e‐mail, we will let you know whether it is still possible to participate in the training. If we cannot offer you a place this time your name will be recorded on a waiting list, and you will have priority when the training is organised again.
